Today we are mourning the loss of our beloved chicken, Rosie. When I went out to feed the chickens this morning, large dog footprints led to a gruesome scene. I am so, so sad, and full of guilt for not having better protected her.
Poor Rosie! It's so hard to lose a valued member of the team. A friend of mine had a fisher cat in her coop last night. She was able to scare it off, but it's scary to think of what the predators can do.
Mama, wife, early childhood teacher (unschooling my own), environmentalist, amateur crafter, voracious reader, blogging about life in a purple house in Massachusetts where I live with my wife and daughter. You will also hear some about the several other 2-8 year-olds who spend their days here with me (the kids).
I love to hear your comments!

Lise, you provided Rosie a wonderful life. Just like all things in your care...RIP Rosie.
